Save the date for great Service Hour Opportunity:  We need both parent and rower volunteers to help at the Bridal Showcase.  This event is a lot of fun and a great way to meet other team members and earn service hours. 

WHAT:  Washington Bridal Showcase

WHERE:  George Mason University EagleBank Arena (Formerly Patriot Center)

WHEN:  Sunday, January 12, 2020 (AM & PM shifts)

Chili Cook-Off & Letter Writing Campaign

Robinson Crew Family Event

6-8PM Gold Cafeteria

Mark your calendar and join the fun for the 8th annual Chili Cook-Off January 10th from 6-8PM.  Crew friends and families will gather in the Gold Cafeteria for a light-hearted competition to kick off the New Year!  Here’s the link to participate in this fun event:

Participation in the Letter Writing Campaign fundraiser is expected for all rowers.   We will hand out instruction packets to parents at the Chili Cook-Off.  Novice rowers will receive a packet containing 10 letters and returning rowers will receive a packet with 5 letters.  Additional letters, up to a maximum of 25 letters total, will earn rowers one service hour per letter.

Volunteer Now - Service Hours Available

Carpool Coordinator - role starts in February and runs through June.  Create a SignUpGenius (SUG) and administer the carpooling process at Robinson on weekdays for transport to the river (this role can be shared among two people). 14 service hours/month.

Spring Break Practice Food Coordinator - create a SUG and ensure that food is provided to the athletes as they practice over Spring Break (April).  30 service hours.

End of Season Party Potluck Coordinator - create a SUG and coordinate the food for the party (June).  10 service hours.

Swim Test Coordinator - Parent needed to organize SignUpGenius (SUG) and run swim test for novice rowers.  Parent will manage SUG of rowers and volunteers, reserve pool lanes at Fairfax County Rec Center, and attend 1-2 days administering swim test.  Swim Test is usually held in January.  10 service hours!
