The Swim Test will consist of the following:
All rowers must be in typical training attire:
Swim 100 meters
Tread water for 2 minutes
Don a Personal Floatation Device (PFD) that is tossed to them while in the water
The entire test must be completed without stopping, touching the walls (other than to turn and go in the other direction) or touching the bottom of the pool. There will be no break between the swimming and treading water portions of the test. There is no time limit or stroke requirement for completing the 100 meters.
The Swim Test will be administered by the Head Coach and a parent coordinator. The Head Coach will make the final determination as to whether a rower passes or fails the test. Failure to pass the swim test will result in a refund as outlined in the Membership Refund Process in the Handbook.
Returning rowers do not have to complete the test once they have successfully passed it.
